Once logs barely move the fire bar, the processor is how you keep upgrading. It accepts logs and meat. Pelts can go in if you are not saving them. Place it so the output lands in the fire.

You build a camp, keep the campfire burning, and try to reach 99 nights. The official listing says you build that camp with friends. A run can continue past night 99. Rescuing four missing children is a major objective, and a Self-Preservation badge is described for reaching day 99 without rescuing any of them.
